first_imgCD Projekt RED still isn’t ready for press and gamers to try out Cyberpunk 2077, but their massive sci-fi opus will still be at Gamescom.   Today CDPR revealed its plans for Gamescom 2019, which includes live on-floor demos of Cyberpunk 2077 in action. Sadly gamers and attendees can’t actually try the game out. The demos aren’t hands-on and instead are played by the dev team. Similar to E3 2019, press will get access to a more one-on-one gameplay demo behind closed doors, likely conducted on insane PC hardware powered by an NVIDIA RTX Titan GPU. “Entertainment area pass holders will be able to watch Cyberpunk 2077 being played live by members of the development team at the game’s booth located in Hall 6, Stand C049. These presentations will take place Wednesday, August 21st through Saturday, August 24th.  “The studio’s business booth in Hall 4.1, Stand C041/D050 will host behind-closed-doors gameplay showings for media and trade visitors from Tuesday, August 20th. These will continue up to and including Thursday, August 22nd.”  Ultimately we shouldn’t be worried about the game. Sure it’d be great to go hands-on and see just how the game plays and feels but the studio has plenty of time to evolve and optimize the game on all platforms. CD Projekt RED still has roughly nine months before Cyberpunk 2077 ships. The studio has made tremendous progress in their huge story-driven FPS RPG; from the living, breathing world and real-time AI to the hugely dynamic opportunities that’re all based around choice, Cyberpunk 2077 is shaping up to be this generation’s big blockbuster. The E3 2019 trailer showcased incredible next-gen CGI while exposing an exotic high-tech city of crime, grit, and wanton mayhem. And of course it also confirmed Keanu Reeves as Johnny Silverhand, a co-protagonist that’ll be a huge part of the game.  CDPR plans to release the closed-doors gameplay demo at PAX West, which is conveniently right after Gamescom. Gamescom will be held from Tue, Aug 20, 2019 – Sat, Aug 24, 2019 in Cologne, Germany.last_img read more
