A 12-member jury was on Wednesday empanelled to hear the case of security guard Marlon Callender who has denied killing fisherman Envil Pollard on January 29, 2015, at the Pritipaul Wharf at McDoom, East Bank Demerara. State Prosecutors Mandell Moore and Lisa Cave presented the State’s murder indictment before Justice Sandhill Kissoon at the High Court in Georgetown. Callender entered a not guilty plea upon his arraignment.Murder accusedMarlon Callender will go on trial next weekThe matter was adjourned to next Monday when the trial will commence with the prosecution’s opening address. The defendant is represented by Attorney Lammy Singh.
