Delaney, who was named the 2019 Southland Conference Player of the Year last month, is the fourth all-American in Bearkat history, joining Gilberto Clavell (2011), Joe Thompson (2005) and Donald Cole (2003) who all also earned honorable mention nods after their Southland Conference Player of the Year seasons. The Harker Heights native led the Bearkats to a Southland Conference title in 2019, leading the team in scoring with an average of 13.4 points per game to go with 5.5 rebounds. He was even better in Southland Conference play, averaging 15.6 points and 6.3 boards per contest, while hitting 50.6 percent of his shots from the field. FORT LAUDERDALE, FLA. (WSVN) – South Florida’s Memorial Day weekend got a high-flying kickoff when a group of U.S. Para-Commandos dropped in on Fort Lauderdale Beach, Saturday afternoon.GoPro video captured the soldiers freefalling at 120 mph before opening their iconic black and gold canopies. The precision parachute demonstration was part of the Great American Beach Party.Para-Commando Michael Puma said it all went off without a hitch. “Everybody’s feeling good. We did two passes. The first pass brought the American flag dow to open up the ceremonies down here at the beach fest,” he said. “Second pass, we did a four-way star to present how we do freefall operations in SOCOM [U.S. Special Operations Command].
